BRAILLE SINCE 1997

Since 1997, L'OCCITANE has added braille to its packaging to raise awareness on visual impairment. Today, almost 253 million people are blind with many cases being avoidable. The L'OCCITANE Foundation is committed to fight avoidable blindness with their program "UNION FOR VISION 10by20" The goal is to reach 10 MILLION BENEFICIARIES OF EYE CARE BY 2020. To date, the brand has enabled access for 8 MILLION PEOPLE worldwide. 

WOMEN'S GOLD

The brand has broken the 'Provence-only' rule for a specific most loved range, Shea Butter. Did you know that in Burkina Faso, only women are allowed to take part in the production of Shea? L'OCCITANE supports over 15 000 women and has provided 8000 women with micro-credit since 2009. A programme recognised by the United Nations Development Programme. 

FIGHT AGAINST POLLUTION

L'OCCITANE have currently reduced their use of plastics by 22% and are now working on decreasing to 50%. With the introduction of eco-refills, for the year of 2017 the company had saved 124 tons of plastic. The brand is also committed to protecting plant varieties and and researches ways to help these plants survive in its natural biodiversity.
